Mission
Our Purpose
The Arm of Samson, based in Tel Aviv, is dedicated to reintegrating injured Israeli soldiers into society. We provide essential workshops and master courses in handyman skills, including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work. Our aim is to establish a network of accredited veteran handymen to facilitate their employment while allowing customers to support those who served their country.
The October 7th war called up more than 500,000 reservists. Thousands didn’t come home. But many more came home disfigured, missing limbs and worse… their very minds and confidence are diminished. The Arm of Samson proposes to retrain them. In some cases to give them an experience with a workshop. But in more cases to give them skills that they can do with their diminished physical capacity. And ultimately to give them jobs.
Workshops –
As a veteran is recovering, he/she must first find their confidence and an inner peace. The Arm of Samson workshops get the soldiers working with each other and using their hands. Woodworking, metallurgy, automotive repair, even candle making. These experiential one-off workshops start the process.
Skills
When they are ready, many will need new skills. For these soldiers, The Arm of Samson will offer master courses. More than just a workshop, these courses are taught by true professionals who give the knowledge, experience, and abilities. These courses will give an actual accreditation which the soldiers can take to the marketplace.
Jobs
The ultimate offer is to place the veterans in solid, well-paid jobs. Ideally, The Arm of Samson will create a network of accredited professional veterans. One of the primary courses is to train soldiers to be handymen. Too often a handicapped soldier cannot get his driver’s license, The Arm of Samson will provide an electric city-car that they are able to drive to. These branded vehicles tell a story. A national 800 number allows anyone in the country to call and to get a bonded, accredited, veteran handyman. Not only will he/she do the job for a fair price, but the customer also knows they are doing something good for a soldier who sacrificed himself.
This non-profit is built to be self-sustaining.
